Initial land purchase of approximately 17,000 acres.

Reforestation in Washington:

Original logged-over areas were reforested using seed from seed areas and clumps of standing trees left for reseeding.

Helicopters are used to disseminate seed in areas with insufficient seed trees.

From 1952 to 1954, the first large-scale hand planting of Douglas fir seedlings in Clallam County in areas devastated by the Forks Fire of 1951 and the Bear Creek Fire of 1952.

Hand planting became the usual method of reforestation.

Established Bloedel Forest in 1974 with the purchase of the 4,000-acre Fostoria Block.

Peak land holdings in Alabama reached 31,500 acres.
